There is a benefit fund in the name of Ronnie Chris at the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas for Chris and Melissa Ward. They recently lost their house due to a fire. You can make donations at any branch throughout the month of February. For any additional information you can call 633-3112.

Birding Van Tour

Mississippi River State Park will be hosting a birding van tour on Saturday, February 13, at 8:30 a.m.  It is a three-hour event for only $8 a person. Pre-registration is recommended since space is limited.  For more information you can call 295-4040.

Clothes Closet

The Clothes Closet at 509 N. Rosser Street in FC will be open on Saturday, February 13, from 9-11 a.m. to provide free clothing for men, women and children who need it.

Chamber of Commerce Banquet 2016

The 2016 Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be on Thursday, February 18, at the EACC Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $25 per person, with corporate sponsorships at $330 (includes eight tickets, a reserved table and listing in the program).  A meet-and-greet will begin at 6 p.m. with a dinner following at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Mike Preston from the Arkansas Economic Developmental Commission.  Deadline to buy tickets is Thursday, February 11.

UAPB Vesper Choir Performance

Gourd Craft Workshop

Fire Safety Event

The Palestine Fire Department will be joining with the SFC Health Unit and SFC Hometown Health Coalition to present a Fire Safety Event. This event will be on Saturday, February 20, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Palestine Fire Department.  For more information call 633-1340.

Palestine Summer Ball Registration

The Palestine summer ball program will be registering children ages 3-18 on Saturday, February 20, from 10-1 p.m. at the Palestine City Hall and again on Saturday, February 27, from 10-1 p.m. at Hibbett Sports in Forrest City. United States Air Force Band

Financial Aid Workshops

Forrest City High School will provide two opportunities for parents and seniors to come and complete financial aid applications for college. Million Dollar Quartet

Chili Day

Newcastle Rural Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting their annual chili day fundraiser on Friday, February 26. It will be located at the First Baptist Church in Forrest City starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and silent auction. Basket Weaving Event

Movie Day at Public Library

Forrest City Baseball

Deadline 3/18/16

The Forrest City Recreation Dept. is accepting applications for youth softball and baseball for ages 4-17, and deadline for registration is March 18. Those living in city limits will have fees of $20, while those outside city limits will be $25. They will also be registering men, women and co-ed softball age 18 and older. Team fees are $250. Palestine Ball Program Benefit

FCSD Uniform Drive

Forrest City School District is having a school uniform drive to collect new and gently-used uniforms.  Donations may include navy and white collared shirts, and black, navy, and khaki pants.  Elementary age sizes are especially needed.  Clothes may be dropped off at the FCSD Parent Center, in the Administration building at 625 Irving.  For more info, call 633-1485, ext. 111.

FC After-School Program
